Whistler Centre for Sustainability receives grant from the Real Estate Foundation of BC to support five small communities in BC!
QuickStart ICSP

A generous grant from the Real Estate Foundation of BC will support each of five communities with $20,000 towards the total project budget of $46,000 for a QuickStart Integrated Community Sustainability Plan. With FCM’s Green Municipal Fund no longer supporting the development of ICSPs, this is a rare opportunity for smaller communities to complete a sustainability plan at a significantly reduced cost.

A QuickStart ICSP is a stream-lined, cost-effective and comprehensive ICSP that is completed within 8-10 months, and delivers a plan, a set of indicators and monitoring system, actions for immediate implementation, and tools and a training session for staff and council to integrate the ICSP into decision-making processes. Read more about the Centre’s QuickStart ICSP process here.

This is a Call for Expressions of Interest from small communities in BC (population <= 10,000) interested and prepared to undertake the QuickStart ICSP. Projects must be started by April 1st, and be completed by the end of 2012. Click here to read the Call for Expressions of Interest, and for the EoI template and Council resolution template to be filled out.

Responses must be submitted by Friday February 10, 2012

To find out more, contact Mark Allison at 604 935 8127 or mallison[at]whistlercentre.ca.
